Jaw Line on Fleek

So this was a pretty good week this week! Elder White and I are getting along super well together! It’s so awesome being a mission dad even though my son already speaks pretty good Spanish already.... So I’m really just training him how to live like an Argentine and this like that!

But it’s really hard just to find people to consistently teach so we are always looking for people to teach and it can make the day’s kind of longer... The days in Formosa just flew by but here they drag on a little longer because of that....

But everything has been super good for this past week and have nothing really new to talk about!! This next week will probably be a little crazy but more to come about it!!

Have a great week! Love you all and siguen adelante!

Oh my mom I literally wrote this chick ONCE!
So I am writing Elder Sheehan’s ex-girlfriend and she told me to write this chick that was serving in Hillsboro.... so one week I got an email from her and I responded no más! But obviously she’s been talking about me so that’s kind of dope I guess... I’m famous with the sisters in the Portland mission;) I don’t think you know just how much a hit on girl’s mom back home......

Yeah I’m down to 186 (weighed myself today) I have always been in big cities! Formosa is just a lot poorer than the rest! But here we get lunch everyday so I ain’t mad! I haven’t been gaining weight though!

I have a multi zona tomorrow in Resistencia so I will see if I got the package or not! But all is well! Have a great week!

Jon

wow you’re actually counting???
If you want to get mom trunky tell her I will be on a plane ride home in exactly 365 days! then she can start the countdown!  This week was good! We worked really hard and have been inviting literally everyone we meet to be baptized! What I have learned about being here in that if you don’t ask literally everyone you’re first time meeting them you’re literally not going to have work! so it has been fun and now we have 8 baptismal dates for this transfer!  Yeah mom told me about the sister missionaries coming over... I’m innocent ok.... nada que ver with this chick......

I have plateaued with the weight gain... I was only sick the one day I don’t know what happened! The water is actually a lot safer here than in Formosa so I’m not too worried hahaha I thought I would have an iron stomach coming from Formosa but I guess not......
Friendly I would use very loosely, yes friendly but very closed to hearing the word of God.
Every P day we eat McDonalds and play Frisbee then write... that’s about all we have time for so it’s all good!
The training is going really well! He apparently told Presidente that he wanted to stick another one with me so I guess I’m being a good dad!
I already told mom I wanted sock and G’s for my birthday... So I dunno how that will work but It’s like a necessity right now hahaha.

Hello all!

So this week was AWESOME! I already love it here in Corrientes Capital! I’m really enjoying my time! The fact that every here believes in Gauchito Gil isn’t really cool though but still I love my time here! The members are super awesome! The area is super awesome! and my comp is even better!

This past week not much happened.  When I got to the area we didn’t have a lot of work so we were starting from square one! But we have found some really cool people this past week! We did get lost in the most sketchy part of our area though so that was fun... we were asking around where we were and all people said to us was "ojo con la zona gringos!" which just means watch out or you’ll get stabbed.... but I did get a flower from one lady because I gave her a book of Mormon! I proudly wore that flower on my backpack all morning long! But It is going to be awesome this next transfer here in this area!

The only downside of the week was yesterday... I got sick and ended up throwing up all over the pension... I got over it over the afternoon but it wasn’t a fun couple of hours.... I don’t know what happened it just sort of happened... But I’m all good now! my Presidente told me some stuff to buy to help get over it! But other than that it was all good this week!

But all is well! hope you are all enjoying your summer!

Love

Hello fam

Yes, I’m enjoying my time! I have running water and everything now! I recently enjoyed a delicious subway sandwich!  But I am enjoying my time a lot! but we are still clapping houses! there’s still no doorbells here! But it’s really hard because there’s a lot of Catholics.... like a lot!  But this past week was really fun! Elder White and I are really enjoying our time together! and are you kidding, my area is MASSIVE now! It takes us 30 minutes on average to get to a house just to teach a charla! It’s crazy!! thank goodness my shoes are still holding up really well!! But there is the red earth here but it doesn’t get in the water… the water is a lot safer here than in Formosa! But the number of people that come to church here is a lot more then in Formosa so we actually have lunch here! and the members are so AWESOME! They are so faithful and active it’s awesome!  But it’s been a struggle his week because I’m basically white washing the area! But it has been an adventure!!

Yesterday though we stayed in the pension... I kind of threw up... a lot.... so its wasn’t too fun... I think I just ate a bad combination of food.... we had my first tacos in 10 months and then my companion made me a milkshake in the pension... then I was in pain and about 30 seconds after I called President Franco I just puked all over the place.... It’s totally fine now I’m all good! I dunno what happened but I had to sleep it off all day yesterday!

It’s been going pretty good here in this month! Not too much to complain about! It sounds like y’all are having a great week and a great time!

love you all

Son, We Are DEFINITELY Not in Formosa Anymore!

TRANSFERS!! And I went!!

So right now I sit in Corrientes Capital! The lifeblood of Argentina culture!
I got transferred yesterday from Formosa after being there for 6 months!
So now I will be working with the Maipu Branch here in Corrientes!

I will be finishing the training of another missionary, Elder White, from South Carolina! Just a gringo that can’t speak much Spanish! so it will be fun!! But there was about zero work here when I arrived… so we are going to hit the ground running these next couple days! Elder White is super excited to get the wheels going in this area! It will be a slow couple of weeks to start off but I’m confident we can bring some life into it! and the area is HUGE! way bigger than what I had in Formosa Capital!

I left Formosa at 7 in the morning by bus for Corrientes and got to Resistencia before we got caught in a traffic jam... Turns out they cut the ONLY bridge between Chaco and Corrientes adding 3 hours that I was stuck on the bus... so a bus trip that should have lasted only 3 hours turned into 6 hours stuck in a massive bus without fresh air... I almost died.

But way more exciting is that I basically live in the United States. I walked upstairs for the first time in 6 months to get to our pension, there’s a Walmart and McDonalds in the city, and within our area there’s actually places to buy things like food! So I’m not living the struggle life anymore!! I might get fat again but at least I will be happy actually having (safe) food to eat!

But my last week in Formosa was one to remember! I did divisions again with the Mexican Elder Garcia! I love that guy so much and we just had a great time and copped a cool Argentina Beanie! (pictures to come latter... My SD still isn’t working...) Then the rest of the week we just chased all day long and taught some dope gospel stuff along the way! It was super tranquilo as always in Formosa!

But I’m doing super well and we are going to have so much fun this transfer!! Hope you all have a great week and keep doing you!!

Elder Peters
So fresh and so clean.

Oooh I’m sorry I just do whatever our mission president says...

But that’s cool you met Elder Allen’s grandma! I left him behind in Formosa this past week to train a new gringo from the United States...

As for me, I got transferred to Corrientes Capital! To train!! But not to train a kid fresh from the MTC, but he already has 6 out of his 12 weeks done of training so I’m finishing it out for him! Kind of like Elder Johnson did with me! I am in the Maipù Branch (seeing as Corrientes has no Wards)!

But there is absolutely zero work so it’s basically a white wash in this moment. Starting from square one with lot of contacting and finding new people to teach... But Corrientes Capital is the hardest place in the mission so it’s not a fun place to arrive to with 0 people to teach... So it will take a few weeks to get the wheels rolling here! But it will be fun!!

Fun facts. ELDER SHEEHAN is my new Zone Leader and is in my district! We live 1 block from one another so we will be seeing him ALOT! It’s going to be such a fun transfer! My New companion is Elder White from South Carolina! For 6 weeks he already speaks REALLY well so thankfully I’m not pulling the team by myself!

But this past week was really good! We got Jaqui confirmed! So hopefully the ward there in Formosa can help her get to church every week!

But that was about it! Not much else! I’ll keep you guys updated in the weekly email!

Congrats to Rachel, Happy Birthday Kirstin
